2.1 Watch out France, here we are

Once we got on the plane t 2am Sydney time, we were served a "supper" from book the cook. After we had eaten our "midnight snack" most of us fell asleep, thanks to the melatonin from Mal. Edward however, although not being physically sick, managed to do 3 tiny vomits and got the attention of the flight staff for the rest of the flight. The sun chased us the whole way to France, giving us an extended sunrise. Edward felt 'unwell' the rest of the plane ride while everyone gave him great sympathy by watching movies. We got off the plane at 7:30am Paris time, and got off the plane. The queue to get through the border police, was enormous and we were in the queue for about an hour. Luckily the people at the airport had moved all of our baggage off the carousel so that there was space for the next flights baggage. When we got out to meet our ride to the hotel, we were greatly surprised to see that they were nowhere to be found.  After calling the people for about another hour, they turned up with a car that would barely fit all of our luggage in it. Really annoyed, we went to catch a taxi to the hotel.

Really tired we flopped onto the bed, but not for long. After a shower to freshen up Mum thought it would be a "good idea" to make us walk 8km to tire us out but little did she know that being on a plane for 26 hours with minimal sleep would do the trick. From the hotel, mum did some window shopping to see what she would like to go by her self to buy later. As we were walking, Holly was taking pictures of the scenery when two gendarmes came up to her with fully loaded machine guns. Tuns out that she took a photo of the U.S consulate. They are just a little bit nervous right now. Cue conversation with children about Donald Trump, terrorism etc.
We had a lovely lunch out near the Champs Élysées and then walked for half an hour back to the hotel. After having an hour nap, we went out to galleries layfette. Sadly nothing caught our eye as we went through the 7 stories. As we walked home, we went and got some awesome macaroons, saucisson, goats cheese and bread from a Galleries Layfette food hall. Edward, who was apparently about to die convinced mum and dad to go back to the hotel. We just flopped on the bed again and had a simple Parisian dinner in our rooms with the food that we had just bought. Ed made a miraculous recovery after some food and water got into him.  We are looking forward to an early night and a big couple of days in Paris.
