We caught the RER to Disneyland. It was a 50 min trip and we spent the trip trying to pronounce the difference French station names... Nation, Gare de Lyon, Chatteau des Halles, Chessy.
At Disneyland, Kate bee-lined to the "Rock 'n Roll Aerosmith" roller coaster. This was our first queue for the day.
Ed bravely joined Mark and the girls and thought the ride was "scary, dark and loopy." Holly and Kate thought it was fun and would have gone on it multiple times.
Whilst Ed was being brave, they went on the "Andy's favourite toy car." Last time, this was the ride that Holly screamed the most on. We were not sure Ed would be up to it... but he survived.
Next we saw the Stunt Car show. It was the same show as 2 years ago, but still amazing to see.
The Parachute drop was next and then lunch at a pretty average restaurant. This was definitely not the French cuisine we have had on our trip so far.
Now over to Disneyland Park. The first of the big queues... 45 minutes to wait for the Rocky Mountain rollarcoaster. This one was a bit too loud and scary for Ed and his hair was literally standing on end after it! Next stop Indiana Jones ride. Ed chose to sit out with the Bag Lady (ie Sally) and let Holly, Kate and Mark enjoy the ride. I am not quite sure we can say that Mark enjoyed the ride. Being over a foot taller than the standard male, he spent the ride scrunched up in a little seat with a metal bar squashing him into a tiny gap whilst his head poked above everyone else's. During the ride he was able to examine the roof and walls alitlle closer than he would have liked... so no more rollarcoasters for him.
As the rain started, we went to Cartopoia where kids can "drive" the cars on a track. Sal finally braved a ride and upon the insistence of Ed, was chaffeuered around the track. The car seats were full of water and even though we had perched ourselves on the edge, every time we went down hill, the water rushed down and soaked our pants.
This was definitely Ed's highlight.
We then went on the ride again. This time Ed drove Mark and Kate drove Sal. Kate was very confident and thinks she is now ready to have her licence. Ed still beaming. Holly just loves bumping into everyone.
We watched the parade in the rain and caught the train back home. So easy!
The girls spent the trip making the "Faces of Disneyland Collage"...
Dinner was at the Galleries Lafayette food hall... pizza's. We needed to have some nice food after Disneyland and we were all happy to wait till we returned to Paris.
The "soldes" at Galleries la Fayette started today and Holly and Kate bought a handbag and wallet. They are both very happy with their purchase. Sal felt a little sad that she did not do the shopping she would have liked... but there are still more days in France, Belgium and Switzerland to remedy this.
We miss having Grandma and grandad with us on this holiday.
