Day 4 to London

Back to London and after many many hours in London traffic we will never complain about Sydney traffic ever again.

We went to the British Library to see the Magna Carta exhibition and loved everything about it. The kids were mildly interested but Mark and I thought it was amazing.  So many old and precious documents... The original 1215, a 1297 copy and so many other amazing things to see.  We decided that Margaret would have been in heaven here with so many ancient texts.  Abit sad to not have either of our parents see the exhibition.

We then popped upstairs and saw some other manuscripts held by the British Library: Beatles lyrics, Bach music, da Vinci drawings, letters from Anne Bolyen and Thomas More and Mark's favourite, the Codex Sinaiticus.
We had to leave earlier than we would have liked after the kids started playing tips in the library.

Then saw Platform 9 3/4 at kings Cross Station, London Bridge, Big Ben and finally went on a red double decker bus.

After a long, tortourous drive home, Sarah cooked a feast for us, together with Chris (David's brother) and Judith.

  1. Enjoying your photos and comments. The British Library is one of my favourite places in the whole world. That was were I told them that they had two manuscripts mis-labelled. Did not go down too well! They said it was quite likely and were not too worried and did nothing about it. Enjoy Belgium. I have set up Skype now so perhaps we can chat sometime. Love M and D
