COVID week 10: May 17-23

Things are starting to get back to "normal", well at least a new normal.  Australia has done really well compared to many other countries, and now things are starting to open up again.  This week was the last week of restricted school, where the kids only went for one day of the week.  From next Monday they will be going full time.
This week Ed rode his bike to school and back in his winter uniform.  It was mostly a success, expectp when his bag fell off.
Kate got to stay home on Thursday while Holly and Ed were at school.  During her lunch time on Thursday she contined the slice making extravaganza with a nice little apple crumble slice
Friday was Kate's birthday, but she had to go to school and be there for waterpolo training at 6:45am.  That meant presents were done at 6am.  Yay!!  There was a bit of disappointment.  Kate had hoped to be able to do the test to get her "p's" but there were no test running.  Soon we hope.

Ed and Holly were at home for the day on Friday, and our adventure of supporting the local restaurants finally meant we ate Subway.  Yum!

During the day, Ed and Holly started to decorate Kate's room for her return from school.

Sally went and picked Kate up (no public transport for us just yet), and Kate had armfuls of food that all of her friends had cooked for her.  They really get Katem and love her so much! On her return home there was food and balloons.

Because of the early start at school for Kate on her birthday we had to have her breakfast the next day. She had really wanted to have fried chicke, bacon and maple syrup on waffles, like we have had at the laneway cafe in Tassie.  Dad cooked, and everyone enjoyed!!
In the evening we had Ty and her family over for drinkies, nibbles and a cake.  They are such wonderful company and we had a great night.

From next week the kids will be back at school full time and everyone is holding their breath that there is no "second wave" of infections.  Lets hope and pray.
