Just over 2 years ago I set out on a PhD journey, and coincidentally so did COVID-19. It has been an amazing time filled with learning and a fair bit of frustration. But the borders are open and I can start to do the research trips I should have been doing over the last two years. This is the first trip to Sweden and The U.S.. While there have been a few trips within Australia, it is worth chronicling the overseas travel for the sake of history and the family.
The week before the trip was Easter and we had a great time away at Lake MacQuarie. We were without Kate who was on a Uni Christian camp, but the rest of us had a wonderful time. Wallace enjoyed always being near to us.
The Sunsets were amazing!!!And there was plenty of sun to be enjoyed after so much rain.
But the trip rolled around a week later, and this trip is to Sweden to present a a conference and meet with different authors, chaplains and researchers. I then head off to the U.S. to meet with as many people as I can in the industry in America. Already there have been some great exchanges with people over email and Zoom meetings, so it is exciting.
The only way to take off the mask is to eat or drink. So be it, I shall drink!!
The plane is due to board at 8:30pm so I am hopeful of watching a movie and then having a long sleep. Let's see how it goes.
Bon Voyage
