It started as a late morning in Zürich as we were all tired from last night. Eager to go and get the best hot chocolates in Zürich we went out the door quickly with our gigantic apples. Kate, being a woose tried to throw her apple to the swans as she declared it as disgusting. Ed also, being a woose thought that just taking a little bite from his apple would be acceptable to eat a hot chocolate. Mum, dad and I all ate to the core, deserving more than one hot chocolate each. We got to the best hot chocolate shop in Zürich and we all got a hot chocolate each (even though Kate and Ed didn't deserve on) and three beautiful pastries. After scoffing the pastries, we walked off.
Dad was researching Zwingli and found that on a close (well, supposed to be close) road Zwingli ate a sausage on lent to break the Catholic Church rules. We walked back to the lake to look at an important church in the reformation.
We walked along the beautiful lake of Zürich gazing at the swans. When we got to a statue of Zwingli, apparently a very important man in the biblical world, Dad preached to us about his his importance in the reformation. Mum, being very excited to see a music shop, we walked into, I think the most expensive music shop ever. The clarinets cost over 3,000 franks! We walked out to go to the Grossmünster church of Zwingli. We looked around at all the pews and stained glass and then we bought tickets to walk upstairs. I think everyone in the oldern days were dwarfs as the stairs were really small and short as dad ducked and walked sidewards in them. When we finally got to the top we saw a beautiful site of Zürich ( with Mum gasping as she has a really big fear of hights) and we took photos of lakes, churches and old buildings while ed was watching a pigeon bored off the veiws.
We walked down the stairs quickly so we could eat some lunch. Because we were in Switzerland we decided to eat Mexican food. We sat down and then we ordered a plate of fries, nachos, ribs and chicken nuggets.
The meal got eaten slowly and over lunch we decided that mum, Kate and I were all going to get Swiss Army knives. We walked to Victorinox and choose our pick, we all got ours in graves with our names on them then we put them away for Christmas. Mum and I, eager to go shopping went down the street for a very long walk suggested by grandma to look at some beautiful yet expensive cloths and Jewlery.
Mum and I were eager to get ice creams but had to text Dad before to make sure it was fair but Dad didn't reply. Apparently Dad, Kate and Ed all got ice creams (which they totally didn't deserve). While Mum and I did about 5 kilometres extra to the 5 kilometres we had already done (which is an average of kilometres we do a day) Kate and Ed were lounging around playing on screens while Dad was watching the Tour de France. When Mum and I got back we relaxed for a while then Dad and Kate went to get some groceries for dinner. We ate leftovers and salad then Mum and I ate our Movenpick from the shops which Dad and Kate got.
We were all sad as we got to bed as it was our last full day in Europe before we get to Sydney.
A great description of the day! Reading the blog each day has made us feel part of the trip. Thank you to all the authors and photo takers! Have a good trip home.
