Summer Fun #4

The first Sunday of the school holidays has arrived.  Sunday is of course NOT a day of rest for Mark, and not very relaxy for Sal either.   In any case Sal got to go for a run early in the morning and bumped in Cath Nelson as she ran.  We don't know how much running actually happened and how much talking was done!

Mark preached at two services today on Jesus' arrest in John 18. The whole family went to church together in the morning at St Matts, as it was "Thanksgiving Sunday". We gave thanks for the good things for the year.  We also had a picnic with tennis at Lees park.

It has been a long month of so, so there were only a few families there.  Holly got to hang out with Sam Walker and find mud to rub all over her hands and legs.  Obviously yesterday just whet her appetite for mud.
It is a lovely area that we live in and it is great to have reliable friends in the church community. We are very blessed to be able to live here.
After a couple of hours in the sun and after a few tennis balls had been hit (by Ed and Mark, and about 2 by Holly) we went home to prepare for the next event.
Kate's good friend Annabelle was having a group of friends and their family's over for a dinner party. Sal and the kids prepared entrees (rare roast beef, a favourite with Holly) a pavlova and an asparagus tart.  Lets see who's wee smells in the morning!!

The kids swam and had a great time.

I guess we can add this to our list of pools for the holidays. We have now done 6.

Mark joined late after preaching at night church for the final slice of pavlova and baklava.  Another full and rich day in the Layson experiment of relishing life rather than screens.
