Day 26: More Pyrenees and another stage of the tour

It was another hot day in France.  We started early and left Cauterets behind and headed to Ax Les Thermes.  We moved over for a stage of the tour finishing at Plateau De Beille which is about 15km away.
We drove for 3 and a half hours, (with a couple of more vomits from Ed) and went straight to the foot of Plateau de Beille.  When we arrived it was 35 degrees.  We managed to park right in front of a little Christian shrine about 500 metres from the town at the bottom of the climb, and then walked a little further about 1km up the climb. We again found a prime spot to sit and popped up our cheap beach umbrella we bout for €11 last week. The kids again loved getting all the free give always from the tour caravan.  We got lots of free key rings, hats, and other little trinkets.
As the caravan was right at us the storm started.  It poured with rain on us, but we stayed reasonably dry under the tree we stopped under and our trusty beach umbrella.

We got up close with the riders in the rain and had a ball in the rain

We then worked our way back through the crowds to the car.  On the way we stopped in the town square of Les Cabbanes (at the foot of the hill) and watch the finish of the stage won by "purrito" we are just over the hill from Spain so the Spanish fans loved it.

Then back to our, new (as well as much bigger and cleaner) unit.  We then headed out for Paella as we are so close to Spain.  Another great day.
