Day 8: Hadrians walk #2

Butterfly by DH Lawrence

Butterfly, the wind blows sea-ward,
    strong beyond the garden-wall!
Butterfly, why do you settle on my
shoe, and sip the dirt on my shoe,
Lifting your veined wings, lifting them?
    big white butterfly!

If you are going to walk 20km, you might as well have some fun catching 🦋

It was hot with lots of crags (hills). We followed the wall for 20km through no towns or villages. Enjoyed a fantastic packed lunch of egg sandwiches, lemon drizzle cakes and snacks. Very grateful for the coffee cart with 7km to go where we could get some water.
I learnt that EJW is very British, with her favourite series all being British comedy. She also needs an education in movies- she has never seen the Kiera Knightly version of Pride and Prejudice, Pitch perfect or Divergent. Luckily she knows the words to the Proclaimers… da da da daaaaa

Last 2km hurt. We were exhausted.. so I ran it as my toes were sore.
Gin 11&12 definitely the best so far! Twice brewed Rhubarb and Ginger .
