Day 7: Hadrians Wall walk #1

Not our favourite hotel- had a wet dog smell as they can have dogs sleep in the room!!!

We are on the quest to find EJW socks. We should have got them at Carlisle Sainaburys but we stupidly assumed each stop would be in a decent sized town. Not a 2 building road stop!

So we detoured and took a bus to Haltwhistle. The Sainaburys was tiny- lucky iSave had socks! And I found a butterfly net..

From here we took an alternate route to Hadrians wall. We finally got to see some decent ruins and walked along the wall. It’s pretty hilly with a cool wind and a sprinkle of rain. The cows and sheep kept us company.

After 10km we found a brewery close to our hotel and were very happy to call it quits. This pub is perfect. Great meals and vibe. EJW can even watch the tennis.
