Today was our last full day in Nice. After a big day on the bike for both Sally and Mark, and with Garmin advising rest days, it was time for an easy morning. After sleeping in till 7am, we just lolled around our unit all morning. Mark headed out to the boulangerie to get bread for lunch, and on the way back, really thought he should go for a little ride to Monaco and back. After all, it is just up the road! After a quick text to Ben, we set off on the 20km or so along the coast road to Monaco. With the temperature at about 35 degrees, plenty of water was the order of the afternoon. The ride across to Monaco is a rolling road with amazing scenery.
Monaco is a busy, unrealistic place. Tall towers built on cliffs, immense wealth, and a Formula 1 track. We found the famous Fairmont hairpin and took pictures of ourselves as rcer boys.
We then stopped for a quick affagato, more water and trying to navigate our way out of the place through hectic traffic tunnels. This was much scarier than going full speed down a mountainside! We made it in the end and got back to Nice, having survived the 5 million moped drivers who care very little what side of the road they ride on.
While Mark and Ben went for a ride, Sally did stuff and things! 💩
To celebrate our last night in Nice, we went out for dinner to a restaurant along the promenade and had a swim in the Mediterranean at sunset. What a treat.

We will miss you, Nice, but we are also looking forward to the Alps.
