It’s was a 5 hour drive from Nice to Annecy- we added a little to detour through Italy.
We were in heaven when we stopped at a beachside town near Genova called Spotorno where we called affogato, macchiato and some Italian biscuits and croissants.

Onward to the alps to a town called Susa where we probably had our worst meal. It had so much potential with lasagne, tiramisu etc On the upside the town was beautiful and a stopping point for many motorcyclists.

We made it to Annecy. It has been a long time since we last visited here for a short visit (see first photo).
Mark fulfilled his dream of swimming in the Mediterranean and then a swim in Lake Annecy the next evening.
