It wasn’t easy to find a coffee shop open- but Marks caffeine radar served us well.
Next stop the Silent Pools distillery to check out their gins. All I can remember about the Silent Pools is that when Agatha Christie went missing they had to drain the water in search of her (but later found her in a nearby town) and also there is some Australian weed buggering up the ecosystem.
We enjoyed the Gins but TBH I think we loved the merch the best- pity they do not ship to Australia.
Gin #5
From there we took a 20min walk through country lanes, past cathedrals, brambly hedges and nice alpha Romeo’s to the most beautiful English town called Shere. Loved the whole place -only to find out later that is where the movie The Holiday was set. For lunch we chose the most English thing we could on the menu, Coronation Egg Sandwich on Cornbread and a Gammon and tomato sandwhich.
